Field Maple – Autumn Display
This is a study of a Field Maple tree in autumn. I cycle past this tree every day on my way to the studio but it is only in the autumn that thr tree really displays her true colours. It is painted on Japanese washi paper using traditional black Sumi ink and coloured mineral water colours, then float mounted and framed in natural un-waxed ash. The chop, placed below the signature, means purity
